The Nature of Beauty

The Nature of Beauty

What is beauty?

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

When you hear the word 'beauty', what comes to mind?

A stunning sunset?

Watching a flower bud open?

A gorgeous woman that moves with grace?

How about a quiet walk in the woods?

She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines.

She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.

To me, beauty is anything that makes my heart and soul leap,

like noticing the way light filters through Autumn leaves,

so they glow from within.

It's my husband bringing me a cup of coffee before I've gotten out of bed in the morning,

and calling it my 'Cup of Love'.

You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed.

And you are beautiful.

The sound of a child or baby laughing so hard that it makes me laugh, too.

That to me is a moment of pure beauty.

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.

Friends that make me laugh no matter what is going on in the world are pricelessly beautiful!

Yes, beauty really is more than skin deep, and boundless...

it is your health, your relationships, nature, moments...

let's not box it in with superficial definitions.

That which is striking and beautiful is not always good,

but that which is good is always beautiful.

Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful,

for beauty is God’s handwriting.

Take time today to ponder your definition of beauty, and then look for it in your daily life.

Stay Beautiful!
